Measuring organisational development

“We were delighted by the way Triangle explained a highly complex situation clearly and concisely so we were left in no doubt about the issues we needed to address”
NCVO Sustainable Funding Project
In work for the NCVO Sustainable Sunshine project, Triangle developed tools for both frontline and second-tier organisations to measure organisational development in the context of increasing financial sustainability, called the Sustainable Sunshine.

We are currently finalising a tool for the Workforce Hub to measure progress in workforce development and considering how this, the Sustainable Sunshine and other tools might combine to give a ‘galaxy’ of tools for measuring organisational development.

The draft Workforce Wheel has been used successfully in the final evaluation of Beyond a Helpline, an innovative two-year pilot programme to improve all aspects of HR in small homelessness agencies. Our rolling evaluation has been a key aspect of feedback, learning and development during the programme.

Sara Burns evaluated a capacity building programme for 21 minority ethnic organisations in Camden over three years, working with Camden Council. She took them through a process of identifying relevant outcomes of increased capacity and built measurement into the assessment, planning and review work, enabling the officers to gather evidence of outcomes as an integral part of their work.
